| Special Spring Session |
|
If you liked this course, please recommend it! I'm teaching it for the upcoming Special Spring Session from May 20th through June 26th. Here's the relevant information:
For more information about the new Spring Special Session or any questions about enrollment, please contanct the College of Extended Learning, Matador Bookstore Complex, Room 100, 818-677-2504. I usually don't have any problem filling up the course but this time around, wow, I need as much help as I can get. It may seem strange but you actually need to chose Spring Semester 2008 in SOLAR and then chose Special Spring Session. Most students don't know about this new "spring special session" and there was a problem with SOLAR where students couldn't register even if they wanted to, up until about 2-3 weeks ago, so if you know of ANYONE who might be interested or need this course, please pass this information along to them. Much thanks, Prof. Ropp |
| Extra Credit |
|
I totally forgot to move this over from the old website but basically, here's my extra credit policy. Keep in mind that extra credit is not a safety net for slackers. It can however help if you did poorly on an assignment or two or if you are concerned about a borderline overall grade. In your write up, which you can post on your blog, should answer three questions: 1) what was the event, book, etc. about? 2) what did you learn, and 3) what is the connection to the class. Send me an email to alert me that you've posted it on your blog. |

Did you guys get an email with regard to the official evaluation of this course sometime back in April? The Student Evaluations Coordinator for CSUN just sent me the following: In follow-up to my email of April 11th (below), please note that students were informed of on-line evaluations via their CSUN email. Unfortunately, we show a particularly low response rate. Therefore, we are extending the deadline for students to complete the on-line evaluations to Saturday, May 10th. Please encourage students to refer back to their CSUN email (or forwarding address) for my original correspondence, where the subject line read: “Spring 2008 XXXX 305OL 123XX.” Please also remind students that email remains the official mode of communication on campus, and it’s imperative that they check and clean out their CSUN accounts regularly. Unfortunately, we have received numerous bounce-back messages indicating students’ accounts are “over quota.” Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions, please let me know. Sincerely, Sabrina Rife Student Evaluations Coordinator 818.677-3223 You might need to check your CSUN email for this and if you do find it, please do respond. I noticed that there is a typo in the email above in that this course is referred to as 305OL so I don't know what's going on there. Anyway, I'm actually doing my own course evaluation with you guys today as I find that the official university evaluations aren't that helpful in terms of making specific improvements to a course, it's pretty much just general feedback. So, please be online today for our final quiz and chat. Add as favourites (0) | Views: 890 | Print
