UNIT OBJECTIVES

1. Examine the internal dynamics of Asian American communities around outmarriage and race
2. Examine how these politics have changed since the 1960s

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Describe the current debate over the 'declining' Japanese American community AND explain how multiracial or multiethnic Japanese Americans fit into that debate. Use the JA identity discussion thread in particular.
   
2. In what ways are they counted or not counted in terms of offical census data and in the community? Please draw from the King article.
   
3. What role, if any, do people of multiracial/multiethnic Asian descent have in the AA community? Or are they a separate community?
